Professor Dr. Edmund Sim is a distinguished academic at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), where he has been a cornerstone of the Biotechnology Programme at the Faculty of Resource Science and Technology for over three decades. He earned his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Queensland, Australia, in 2000, and has since established himself as a leading authority in Cancer Genetics, with a specialized focus on the molecular and data sciences of nasopharyngeal and colorectal cancers.

With an extensive publication record of 192 academic papers and counting, Professor Sim’s contributions to cancer research are both prolific and impactful. His leadership in research is evident through his involvement in over two dozen funded projects, where he serves as the principal investigator for 15 major studies.

Beyond his research, Professor Sim plays a pivotal role in academic publishing as the Chief Editor of the Scopus-indexed Borneo Journal of Resource Science and Technology, further solidifying his influence in the scientific community.
