About AACR on Campus (AACRoC)

AACR on Campus – Defeating Cancer through Global Education and Training - is a cooperative outreach program that brings to early career professionals locally relevant perspectives on cancer research trends and innovations at academic and cancer research institutions worldwide. It also provides opportunities for skills training in manuscript writing, scientific communication, research integrity, and network/career development.  
 
AACR on Campus Malaysia is designed to equip early-career cancer researchers and clinicians with essential knowledge, skills, and networking opportunities. The week-long program spans 2 days in two locations and covers a range of topics related to cancer science, with a specific focus on issues relevant to Malaysia’s unique context. 

Objectives:

  1. To equip early-career cancer researchers and clinicians with essential knowledge and insights into latest cutting-edge research and clinical advancements in prevention, early detection, and treatment

  2. To provide an international platform for interdisciplinary collaboration, soft skills training and networking opportunities

 

Key Features of the Event:

  1. Expert Speakers: Renowned cancer researchers and clinicians from around the world, invited by the American Association for Cancer Research (world’s first and largest cancer associations with >54,000 members across 141 countries)

  2. Local Relevance: Tailored content to address the specific needs and demographics of the local cancer research community.

  3. Interactive Sessions: Panel discussions, poster exhibition and meet-the-expert sessions and soft skills training workshop to provide education and training, networking opportunities for young scientists to get connected with the global and regional experts and peers to foster future collaboration.

 

Expected outcomes: Participants will gain insights into cutting-edge research, clinical advancements, and interdisciplinary collaboration.  Networking opportunities will foster connections among researchers, clinicians, and industry experts.  Attendees will be early-career researchers (postdocs, fellows, and junior faculty) and clinicians (physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals) seeking to integrate research into their practice.  Collectively, they will take away from the events the technical knowledge, practical skills, and global professional networks to enhance their careers and contribute to cancer research, prevention, treatment and care in Malaysia. 

 

Dates: 10-14th November 2025

Venues: Kuala Lumpur (10-11th Nov) and Kuching (13-14th Nov)
